# Facty

> Facty is a Chrome and Firefox browser extension that fact-checks YouTube videos in real time. As you watch, it reads the video's captions, extracts checkable claims, verifies each against independent web sources, and shows a verdict with source links — over the player and in a side report panel. It works from any spoken language into your own (EN / RU / ES interface).

Facty answers claims with method, not opinion: it runs a web search for every claim, cross-checks independent sources, and only then issues a verdict on a five-level scale. It checks the claim, not the speaker — confirming what's true as readily as it debunks what's false, on any video and any side.

## What it does

- **Real-time fact-checking**: verdict cards appear over the YouTube player at the moment a claim is made, not after the video ends.
- **Five-level verdict scale**: True, Mostly true, Misleading, False, Unverifiable — instead of a black-and-white true/false.
- **Sources up front**: up to 5 primary-source links per claim so viewers can verify for themselves.
- **Facts vs. opinions**: opinions and predictions are flagged (Opinion / Prediction), not judged — only checkable statements get a verdict.
- **Any language**: works from captions in any language; verdicts and sources are delivered in the viewer's language.
- **Full video report**: a side panel collects every claim, verdict, and source into one breakdown.
- **Two-source rule**: a verdict is issued only when backed by independent sources; otherwise it's an honest "Unverifiable".
- **Privacy**: works from captions only; does not store users' videos and never passes them on.

1. Play any YouTube video — Facty picks up the captions on its own (auto-generated captions work too). No API keys, no setup.
2. The AI extracts checkable claims, searches the web, and cross-checks independent sources — progressively, window by window, while you watch.
3. A verdict card pops up over the player; the full breakdown lives in the side report panel.

Every feature is available on every plan, including Free. Plans differ only by monthly checking volume. Prices in USD; yearly billing is about 20% cheaper. Cancel anytime.

- **Starter** — $9.99/mo (or $95.99/yr). 5× the Free checking volume — about 2.5 hours of video a month.
- **Plus** — $19.99/mo (or $189.99/yr). 10× the Free checking volume — about 5 hours a month. Most popular.
- **Ultra** — $39.99/mo (or $379.99/yr). 20× the Free checking volume — about 10 hours a month.

Cancelling is done in the extension (Facty icon → "Manage subscription"); access stays until the end of the paid period.

Quota is measured in minutes of the video being checked. Watching without checking spends no quota.
